IV Phases of the Salt Moon is a photograph-based project that recreates fictional visual dynamics through digital intervention. It reimagines personal, yet ordinary, captured moments into their sublime counterparts, using collage and manipulation to access the surreal. Drawing on signifiers of memory, like the photographic negative, IV Phases of the Salt Moon posits scenes from places thousands of miles apart as the forces requisite to the rising and phasing of the moon. Each time the images are paired they draw new information from one another, revealing elements which would otherwise remain hidden. Through this process, layering becomes a synonym for the intimacy of lived experience, both fictive and real.
